Welcome!

Hi Everyone!  So I posted something on facebook today asking for ideas from moms- below are some of the great must have products mentioned... what else is out there?  What about for hte toddlers and older kids?

Baby Must Haves:  sound machine, white noise, video monitor, baby swing, zip up sleepers- no snaps, lots of onesies and wash cloths and burp cloths, wipe warmer (Im sure daddy thinks this is for him! haha), diapers, breast pump- definitely getting a good one!, Boppy pillow, and GAS DROPS!  It seems that anything with sound and video is a must to entertain baby when he/ she is fussy!

Thanks for all of the great info and advice so far!!

  1. Butt paste is a good thing to invest in. I found the A&D was the best for Jackson but of course every baby is different. lavender baby bath is good at night bath time especially if Dylan is fussy. Also just reg Johnson's bath stuff for day time bath if your going somewhere and good lotion is a must. Good bottle are a must too especially for the nights when mommy is tired and daddy takes a turn to feed. you want to make sure that transition from breast to bottle is smooth so that he loves it. I used Avent bottles. The nipples on these bottles are just like a breast and daddy hold him close :) it will be a lot like you holding him. They have all different sizes so they grow with baby. A lot of times I would make an extra hole in the old ones to save on money, but make sure you keep track of which ones. Sometimes you may want Dylan to eat slowly so he wears out and sometimes a little faster if your running late.
Ok for mommy. Invest in nipple cream. It is very safe for Dylan and its very important for Mommy. I used this one http://www.walmart.com/ip/Lansinoh-HPA-Lanolin-Cream-for-Breastfeeding-Mothers/17206542. It worked great for me and I used it the last 2 months of pregnancy also. Just to be prepared. May want to invest in breast pads before Dylan gets here also. One day your going to be in the store and here a baby cry and well you know the rest. Really good lotion for you as well for those wonderful war wounds and proof that those bundles of joy are def yours!!! Last but not least for you mommy bubble bath (after dr's approval) and WINE!!!! Nothing wrong with letting AA come over if daddy is working so you can take a bubble bath, drink a glass (or 2) of wine, and relax. You will have to pump and dump though. After all you are the one that does all the work even if no one cares about you anymore!!! I love you Dylan and mommy. Cant wait to meet you

  3. Very good advice... I never thought about using the cream before he is here. I am just trying to get rid of my itchy belly! I have heard great things about the Avent bottles- they have the natural nipples which is great. I was thinking of usingthe Aveeno lotion and bath stuff only because my skin is so sensitive and figure his will be too- are they all basically the same?

Awh wine and a bubble bath... now that sounds like heaven :)
